By Mark Carlson, Iowa City Bureau Chief
IOWA CITY, Iowa - The Johnson County Drug Task Force continued a busy end to their with a marijuana bust Tuesday in Iowa City, less than a week after arresting multiple people on various drug charges around the Thanksgiving holiday. According to a criminal complaint the Task Force found 400 grams of marijuana in the home of Antoine Clemons, 2401 Whispering Meadow Dr. Tuesday afternoon.
The bust comes just a couple weeks after members of the Drug Task Force recovered ¾ pound of meth and $10,000 cash during a drug investigation in North Liberty. The task force has recently made multiple arrests on North Liberty residents for the alleged use, production or attempted sale of meth.
Last month the Task Force also arrested a North Liberty couple for the alleged possession of 120 marijuana plants in their home.
Iowa City police Sergeant Vicki Lalla said the Task Force is made up of local and state officials from multiple departments.
An email seeking comment from a special agent was not immediately returned Wednesday.
