Iowa Man Accused of Stealing Multiple Firearms

By Katie Stinson

CHARLES CITY, Iowa (AP) - A northern Iowa man has been accused of stealing multiple firearms from an auction yard.

Court documents show 40-year-old Randy Patrie, of Charles City, has been charged with one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. He appeared in federal court Friday.

The Charles City Police Department says it found more than 20 firearms in Patrie's home during the July Fourth weekend. Court documents say Patrie told law enforcement officials that he stole the firearms from Gilbert's Sale Yard in rural Floyd.

The auction yard reported a burglary in early May.

Patrie has a detention hearing scheduled for July 14. Court records do not list an attorney.
