DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — The Republican Party of Iowa has set the dates for the 2014 caucuses and conventions.

In a press release the party says the precinct caucuses will be Jan. 25, the county conventions on March 8, the district conventions on April 26 and the state convention on June 14.

The party meetings come at a time with Iowa Republicans are struggling to map out the state GOP's future. While last year's loss in the presidential election and the emerging power of followers of libertarian Ron Paul have caused some strains, Republicans also can note that their party controls half the state's congressional delegation, the governor's office and one chamber of the Iowa Legislature.
