Iowa City Schools Launch Community Engagement Website

IOWA CITY, Iowa – A new website will let people provide direct input to the Iowa City school district.

The website,, allows participants an opportunity to suggest new ideas, comment on existing ideas, give feedback on initiatives and collaborate with Iowa City school leaders, according to a new release.

The top item on the site Tuesday afternoon was a poll asking, “Should we put cell towers on elementary schools?”

“We want to reach out to as many district stakeholders as possible, and to do so we are expanding the we way gather input on important issues impacting the district,” Superintendent Stephen Murley said in the release. “We hope to hear from a larger diverse cross section of people who may not otherwise attend traditional public forums.”
