Iowa City Police Investigate Strong-Armed Robbery
IOWA CITY, Iowa - Iowa City Police are searching for a man they say robbed another man near his apartment Monday morning.
The victim says he was walking down the stairs of 221 Iowa Avenue around 3:20 a.m. when he noticed another man walking behind him. The victim told police the man came up behind him, told the victim he was robbing him and demanded cash. The man then left the building with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police say the victim describes the suspect as a younger adult man wearing a gray sweatshirt, black pants and a black jacket. The victim was not harmed during the robbery and police are still investigating.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers at 319-358-TIPS. The group is offering up to a $1,000 cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.
