IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Iowa City police have found a man accused of grabbing a woman in a downtown building last month.
Police said Tuesday morning they had charged Justin Whitehurst, 26, of Iowa City, with simple assault in the case.
Police asked the public for help in finding the man connected to the assault last week when they released a high resolution photograph of him walking through the pedestrian mall.
"With assistance from the public the Iowa City Police have identified the suspect in this incident," a news release said. "[Justin Whitehurst] had been located, interviewed by police and subsequently charged with simple assault."
According to the initial release from the Iowa City police department the suspect grabbed a female using the stairs in Plaza Towers, 201 S. Linn St., on January 24th, shortly after 3 p.m.
According to police, the victim yelled at him and was able to run away. She was not injured.
