Iowa City Officers Catch Suspect who Shed Shorts
IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say Iowa City officers have captured a theft suspect who shed his shorts during a chase.
The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports that officers were sent early Monday to check reports of a knife-carrying man near a vehicle.
Officers say they found a man at the scene, but he took off running. He was captured about three blocks away, but not before he removed his shorts.
Officers later found the shorts, and they say items stolen from four vehicles were in the shorts pockets.
The suspect was identified as 19-year-old Cole Huisenga, of Sioux City. A phone listing for him could not be found. Online court records don't yet list the case.
