Iowa City Man Accused of Sexually Abusing 12-year-old Girl

IOWA CITY, Iowa - An Iowa City man is accused of sexual abuse after police say he admitted to having sexual contact with her.
According to a complaint from Iowa City police, the girl told police that Michael John Walker, 55, performed sex acts on her on several occasions, prompting police to interview him on March 1, 2013.
Police said Walker admitted to having inappropriate sexual contact with the girl when she was in second or third grade. The report said Walker's statemetns were consistent with what the girl told them.
Walker has been charged with one count of second degree sexual abuse, a class B felony punishable by a minimum of 25 years in prison, and three counts of third degree sexual abuse, a class C felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $1,000 fine.
