Iowa City Fire Causes $40,000 in Damages

IOWA CITY, Iowa - A house fire did approximately $40,000 worth of damage in Iowa City Monday morning.
Shortly after 5 a.m., Iowa City firefighters were called to 1103 Cambria Court for a structure fire. Three engines, a quint company, a ladder truck and a battalion chief responded to the blaze.
Responded crews encountered a heavy fire in the back of the building, as well as the attic space and roof of the two story duplex. Crews launched a quick attack on the rear of the structure before moving to the interior to attack the attic fire. All occupants were confirmed to be out of the building.
The fire required a callback of all off-duty firefighters to staff the stations as 18 firefighters were needed to fight the Cambria Court blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
