IOWA CITY, Iowa - An Iowa City coach received a special honor last weekend for his work with Special Olympics athletes.

The E-C Special Olympics named Joe Taylor its 2014s "Coach of the Year." Taylor is the Iowa City School District's program coordinator. He says the recognition feels great, but he isn't the only one who deserves it.

"It's a good thing," Taylor said. "But there are definitely other deserving coaches as well. Everyone that does it is deserving of the award."

Taylor was first recognized during the opening ceremony of the spring games on April 12. He has been coaching Special Olympics for two years. ?
