IOWA CITY, Iowa - A child in Iowa City says he was robbed at gun point Sunday. The kid was going door to door offering to mow lawns in exchange for money when he spoke with 61-year-old Kevin Shannon.
Shannon declined to have his lawn mowed, but he gave the child ten dollars, reportedly saying he was an under cover police officer. The child left and continued going door to door.
A short time later, Shannon drove up to the child in the 2600 block of Bradford Drive. That's when the child said Shannon pulled out a gun and demanded his money back. Police arrived on the scene around 3:22 p.m. Sunday and arrested Shannon.
Police say Shannon was charged with at least five charges including 1st Degree robbery and going armed with intent. The child was not injured in the reported robbery attempt.
