WASHINGTON, D.C. --- A Cedar Falls sailor injured in Afghanistan has been released from the hospital.

Morris announced on his blog that he was officially released from the hospital Thursday, and has moved to an apartment at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C.

Taylor Morris and his girlfriend, Danielle Kelly, spent the Fourth of July at the White House celebration. They had been invited there by President Barack Obama, who met the couple last week at the hospital.

Morris was hurt on May 3 in Afghanistan while working as a bomb disposal technician. He lost his left arm at the elbow, his right arm at the wrist, his left leg at mid-thigh and his right leg at the knee.
