Festival Puts Films With Iowa Ties on the Big Screen

MARION, Iowa - The Cedar Rapids Independent Film Festival kicks off this weekend. This marks the 13th year for the festival which takes over the Collins Road Theater April 5th and 6th. Sixty films were submitted, 41 were selected to be shown over the course of two days. The films include features, shorts, music videos, and documentaries from professionals, hobby film makes, and students. Though the films plots vary greatly, one central theme is that each has some type of connection to Iowa.
