Independence Man Charged with 1st Degree Kidnapping

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa - An Independence man is facing a first-degree kidnapping charge, stemming from an incident in January.

According to the Buchanan County Attorney, Matthew Sargent Noack, of Independence, was arrest on Monday. According to investigators, Noack forced his victim from a location at 9th Street & 3rd Street SW in Independence and took them to another location next to East Elementary School. The victim was held against their will and subjected to sexual abuse, according to the county attorney's office. The incident happened during the early morning hours of January 13.

Noack is being held in the Buchanan County Jail, he is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
