CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A popular place to grab a burger or a mug of root beer in Cedar Rapids will finally come down Wednesday.

Demolition crews will tear down the A&W restaurant on Ellis Boulevard beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday.

The flood of 2008 damaged the neighborhood favorite, which led to a debate over whether or not it could be saved.

The A&W sign will be donated to the Carl and Mary Koehler History Center.
