Cyclists cruised the eight-mile route on the annual Linn County Mayors' Bike Ride today.

Hundreds loaded up on their two-wheelers to support the growing number of bike trails throughout the county.

Cedar Rapids Mayor Ron Corbett says the city's seen an increase in riders of all ages.

It's a trend Fairfax Mayor Jason Rabe wants to see in his area, as new construction separates two distinct parts of town.

"People from the new part of town could go into the original part of town and enjoy the restaurants and the family activities," Rabe said.

The route started in Ellis Park, then went through downtown Cedar Rapids and the Time Check neighborhood.
