Hugging Saint Visits Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A humanitarian know as the Hugging Saint is handing out free hugs in Cedar Rapids Tuesday and Wednesday.

The woman from South India who's simply known as Amma was at the downtown Cedar Rapids Convention Complex.

People lined up to receive hugs from Amma.

Years ago, Amma began hugging people to comfort them, and they began to call her Amma or "Mother". Followers seek her embrace, which many consider to have healing qualities.

She's embraced more than 33 million people around the world.
