Huckabee Headlining Conservative Event in Des Moines
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is scheduled to headline a conservative event in suburban Des Moines on Tuesday evening.
The winner of the 2008 Republican presidential caucuses in Iowa is among several GOP and social conservative speakers expected at the Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition's annual spring event. It will be held at a church in Waukee.
Huckabee has said he is weighing another White House bid in 2016. He sat out the 2012 campaign.
He has kept a public presence, hosting a Fox News show and a nationally syndicated radio program.
Huckabee made headlines during a speech to the Republican National Committee meeting in Washington in January. He accused Democrats of portraying some women as unable to "control their libido or reproductive system" and dependent on government-sponsored birth control.
