DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Lottery officials say a winning $16.5 million Hot Lotto ticket has been turned in hours before it was set to expire.

Officials with the Iowa Lottery say an attorney from a Des Moines law firm representing a trust brought in the ticket Thursday. The ticket was signed by a trustee but lottery officials say the members of the trust and the buyer of the ticket remain unknown.

Lottery officials say they have not met the actual winners and the prize money has not been paid out.

The ticket was purchased Dec. 29, 2010 at a Des Moines convenience store. It was to have expired at 4 p.m. Thursday.
