MAQUOKETA, Iowa (AP) - A Davenport man has bought a historic hotel in Maquoketa and hopes to reopen if in March.

The Quad-City Times reports Chris Quilty bought the 133-year-old Decker Hotel and Restaurant in February and has been working on renovations.

Quilty purchased the building, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, from Dubuque-based Dupaco Community Credit Union.

Quilty plans to open the restaurant first, then open a downstairs bar when a liquor license is approved.
