Gun Seized During Waterloo Traffic Stop

WATERLOO, Iowa - Waterloo police seized a handgun during a traffic stop Saturday night.

According to police, officers with the departments' Violent Crime Apprehension Team made a traffic stop on Byron Avenue at 8:05 p.m. Saturday. Police identified the driver as 24-year-old Alen Husic. Azra Miskic, 25, was a passenger in the vehicle.

Police said after taking Husic into custody for driving with a suspended license, they notice Miskic acting suspiciously. They also noticed what appeared to be an object under her clothes.

Officers discovered the object was a 9mm semi-automatic handgun.
Both Husic and Miskic were arrested. Husic was charged with possession of a firearm as a felon, carrying weapons and driving while suspended.

Miskic was charged with possession of a firearm as a felon - aiding and abetting and carrying weapons.
