CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – A 41-year-old Grundy man who produced and possessed child pornography pleaded guilty Friday in U. S. District Court.

Ricky Patten was pleaded guilty to one count of producing child pornography and two counts of possessing child pornography.

At the plea hearing, Patten admitted that, between 2008 and 2010, he used a girl under the age of 18 to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing visual depictions of this conduct. He admitted he produced images of child pornography and possessed these images on his camera.

Patten faces a mandatory 15 to 50 years in prison and a $750,000 fine. Sentencing isn’t set at this time.
