Group Aims to Keep Christmas Special for Family

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Some stood out in the cold for hours Sunday night to help a local family struggling this Christmas season.
A handful of people were at Cassill Motors in Cedar Rapids with a simple bucket and a sign that read "Penny Drive for Kaylynn."
Friends of the family said Kaylynn Bollei, of Marion, suffered a brain aneurism. She died on Friday after unsuccessful brain surgery.
In a time of so much sorrow, the small group wants to try to keep the holiday special for the family.
"Their daughter passed away, unfortunately, and there are seven other kids in the family. It's right before Christmas. They are not ready for Christmas yet, and now on top of it they have funeral costs to worry about,” said Hollyanne Collins.
The penny drive went until 9:00 p.m. Sunday. The group, however, will be accepting donations right up until Christmas, so it can give the family a great Christmas and to help pay for the funeral.
People can contact Hollyanne Collins at 319-432-4814 to donate.
