Girl Scouts Learn First-Aid at Eastern Iowa Hospital
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A group of eastern Iowa girl scouts worked toward their first-aid badge at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Wednesday.
The girls practiced bandaging boo-boos and burns on some of their favorite stuffed-animals. But that part of the trip was a surprise for the scouts.
"They knew they were coming for a tour and they knew they had to bring a stuffed animal, but they did not know they were going to get to practice some first aid techniques on stuffed animals," scout leader Sara Drish said.
The troop leader said the trip produced a lot of giggles, smiles and great questions too.
