CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Gas prices are now above the $3 mark in Iowa. And prices are only expected to go up.

Gas stations in Cedar Rapids are now offering the 10-percent ethanol blend for $3.05 a gallon. Statewide, the Iowa Office of Energy says gas prices average $3 a gallon.

That's up 16-cents from a month ago.

State analysts blame increases in global demand, a weak dollar and improving stocks for pushing oil prices higher. Analysts also say that's leading to fuel surcharges for airlines, taxis, shipping and home deliveries.
