Former Dunkerton Football Player Convicted On Gun Charges

DUNKERTON, Iowa (AP) — A former Dunkerton football player has been convicted of several charges, including carrying a weapon onto school grounds.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier says 18-year-old Mar'yo Lindsey Jr. was found guilty last week after a nonjury trial.

Authorities say they found a handgun and marijuana in Lindsey's gear bag following an Aug. 30 game in which he was sent to a hospital for an injury. Authorities were later unable to find Lindsey. He was arrested Nov. 1 in Dallas County, Texas.

Lindsey is scheduled to be sentenced next month.
