Firefighters Battling Fire in Southeast Iowa City

IOWA CITY, Iowa - Emergency crews are currently on the scene of a fire along Heinz Road in Iowa City.

Photos submitted to YouNews on KCRG.com show flames coming from the roof of the building, located at 2339 Heinz Road, which houses several business.

The Iowa City Fire Department called in all available off-duty firefighters for assistance. Volunteer fire departments from Hills, Solon and Coralville have also been called in to assist.

Heinz Road was blocked off for several hours in the vicinity of the fire.

Witnesses reported hearing a series of loud explosions shortly after the fire started. Smoke could be seen from as far away as Lone Tree.

Officials say they're still investigating the cause. No one was injured in the fire.
