Fire Destroys Church Near CentervilleKCCI.com
CENTERVILLE, Iowa — A church near Centerville was destroyed by fire Sunday morning, the Daily Iowegian newspaper reported.
Centerville firefighters were called to the Sharon Chapel Church at 260th Avenue and 540th Street about 6 a.m. The Iowegian said firefighters found the church fully engulfed in flames. The church is located about 7 miles southeast of Centerville. The Iowegian said that by 6:43 a.m. the structure had been burned down. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. |
