IOWA CITY, Iowa - The fifth suspect in a robbery earlier this summer in July is back in Johnson County after being arrested in Georgia.
According to Johnson County Jail records, 31-year-old Christopher W. Kelly, of Iowa City, was booked at the jail Thursday evening. He now faces charges of first-degree robbery and first-degree burglary. Both class B felonies carry potential sentences of up to 25 years in prison.
Kelly is one of five people accused of participating in a robbery in Iowa City on July 15. Police were called to 321 N. Johnson St. at 11:12 p.m. for a report of a robbery. Four of the suspects were quickly arrested. However, police said Kelly fled the state. He was picked up two weeks later in Smyrna, Ga.
