BATAVIA, Iowa —Funeral services are set for this weekend for two children killed when their minivan was hit by a train earlier this week.

Callie Clark, 5, and Erika Clark, 4, were killed in the crash Monday.

An Iowa State Patrol crash report said their mother, Tara Lewman, drove around a stop arm and into the path of an oncoming train. The train appeared behind a first train that was stopped on the tracks.

Patrol Sgt. Russ Morey said the train stopped near the crossing may have kept Lewman from seeing the oncoming second train.

In the small town of Batavia, the trains don't slow down.

A funeral for the girls is planned Sunday at Grace Funeral Care in Batavia.

Another daughter, 1-year-old Jordan and the girl's mother were hurt in the crash and flown by air ambulance to the University of Iowa Hospitals.
