DUBUQUE, Iowa - A house fire just west of downtown Dubuque damaged the home of a notable family in the community.
Fire responders were called out early Sunday morning to 604 Fenelon Place, just off West 3rd Street, on a report of a house on fire.
The home belongs to the family of Lynn Sutton, who has served on the Human Rights Commission and the Safe Community Task Force in Dubuque.
Major fire damage overtook parts of the house's second floor and attic but our crews on the scene report everyone got out safely.
Investigators have not released further information about the damage, such as a cause or if the home is a total loss.
