Evansdale Water To Be Shut Off Sunday; Other Cities Issue Boil Orders
EVANSDALE, Iowa - Water main breaks continue to create problems across eastern Iowa with several cities issuing boil orders.
The City of Evansdale said a water main break will force crews to shut off all water Sunday. The water works department said it will turn off the water at 9:00 a.m. and it will remain off for about 2 hours.
Once the water is back on, officials said the city will be under a boil order for several days.
In Washington County, the Brighton city administrator said the community's boil order may stay in place until Wednesday.
Crews have repaired a water main that broke late Thursday night, but state law requires 2 samples must be taken 24 hours apart and sent to a lab for testing. The city administrator said the first sample will be taken Monday.
And a water main break in the city of Wilton has also led to a boil order.
The city administrator said the water main break is “at the intersection of Summit and Oak Streets” as well as “the 300 block of Vine St.”
