Evansdale Police Arrest 2 for 15 Burglaries

EVANSDALE, Iowa - A vehicle stop Monday morning helped Evansdale Police solve an investigation into more than a dozen storage unit burglaries.

Around 9 a.m. officers pulled over a vehicle in the 100 block of Brown Street. Police say one person inside got out and started to run away as officers approached. After a short chase, authorities found the one who ran away and detained the other occupants of the vehicle, according to a news release from Chief of Police Kent Smock.

Investigators say they learned two of the suspects from the stop were connected to at least 15 burglaries to nearby storage units. Black Hawk County deputies helped Evansdale Police search a home in Waterloo, where authorities say they recovered what they suspect is several thousand dollars in stolen property.

As a result, 40-year-old Amy Seemann faces 15 counts of third degree burglary, among other charges. A judge set her bond at $77,300.

Authorities also charged a 16-year-old boy with 15 counts of burglary. TV9 typically does not identify minors charged as juveniles.
