Evansdale Dealing with Water Main Break

By Katie Stinson

EVANSDALE, Iowa - City leaders shut off the water for a few hours Sunday morning after a water main break. A boil order will stay in effect for the next several days.

Evansadale Mayor Doug Fass said these are measures they have to take. Mayor Fass hopes people throughout the city are understanding the situation and what's required.

"It's an inconvience, but in the grand scheme of things, how much of an inconveience is it to be out of water for an hour or two hours?" Fass asked.

Even with the boil water, leaders at Poyner Elementary School in Evansdale report that food will be cooked at other buildings and bottled water will be brought in.

Boil orders are also in place in the towns of Brighton in Wilton.
