Voters Take to the Polls Tuesday

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The polls opened in Cedar Rapids Tuesday.
As most voters head to the polls they will find city council and mayoral races on their ballots. A question of whether or not to Extend the Local option sales tax to fund street improvements among other things is also on the ballot in Cedar Rapdis, Marion, Hiawatha, Robbins, and Fairfax. Also on the ballot, Marion and Hiawatha have levies on the ballot with proceeds going to help expand and improve their libraries. The Mt. Vernon Fire Department is asking voters to approved a a levy to fund equiptment and vehicles. And In Iowa City, voters must decide weather or not to overturn the 21 and older ordinance in bars. If overturned those 19 and 20 years old would be allowed in past 10 pm. The polls are open until 8 oclock tonight.
