NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa - On Sunday night, eastern Iowans showed their support for seniors and homebound residents in our community.

KCRG-TV9 along with Show You Care sponsors helped "fill the plate" by hosting a telethon live on KCRG 9.2. It benefited the Heritage Agency on Aging. This organization delivers thousands of meals each year to homebound residents and the elderly. A funding cut left Heritage 83,000 meals short this year. In total, the telethon raise $100,200 for the organization.

"This money is going directly towards feeding seniors in our region," said Tim Getty of the Heritage Area Agency on Aging. "Tonight has put a significant boost into where our situation was. It's been an unparalleled support we've seen."
