Eastern Iowa Man Gets 20 Years for Child Porn
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) - A 57-year-old eastern Iowa man has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for receiving child pornography.
A news release from the office of acting U.S. Attorney Sean R. Berry says James Byers, of Belle Plaine, was sentenced Thursday in a Cedar Rapids federal courtroom. Byers admitted receiving child pornography between May 2007 and October 2008, and in a plea agreement admitted distributing, receiving and possessing child pornography.
U.S. District Court Chief Judge Linda R. Reade sentenced Byers to 20 years in prison, followed by eight years of supervised release.
