East Dubuque Residents to Honor Chyenne Kircher

By Ellen Kurt

EAST DUBUQUE, Iowa - Friends and family of an East Dubuque teen will honor her memory Saturday morning.

Chyenne's Kircher's funeral is set to begin 10 a.m. Saturday at the East Dubuque High School Gymnasium.

Chyenne's step-father, Terry Abbas, is accused of strangling the girl two years ago. Investigators believed the teen ran away from home until last week when they found human remains. She was 14 years old when she disappeared.

Police are still waiting on autopsy results. We've learned some members of East Dubuque Community plan to install a bench and plant a tree at the school in memory of Chyenne.
