Dubuque Stabbing Case Goes to Jury
By Katie Wiedemann, Reporter
DUBUQUE - The prosecution and defense wrapped up their cases in the Michael Mayton murder trial Wednesday.
Mayton is accused of killing his friend, David Tate. It happened during a street fight last August.
During cross examination, prosecutors grilled Mayton on why he changed his story. Mayton first said someone else stabbed Tate. But on Tuesday he took the stand and said he accidentally stabbed Tate, thinking he was someone else.
Jury deliberations begin Thursday morning.
