DUBUQUE, Iowa-- The President's motorcade made several stops along his three day route in Iowa.
On day three, he and the First Lady actually sat down for lunch and press interviews at the Star restaurant located in the Star Brewery Complex in Dubuque. But, this isn't the first time the restaurant has received high-status political attention.
Matt and Sarah Kluesner have been running Star Restaurant since 2007, and they have had quite the roster of political guests. Among those including, President Bill Clinton along with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, North Carolina Senator John Edwards and former Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd also make the list.
The restaurant is just a part of the Dubuque Star Brewery Complex. Though the brewery itself is no longer in business, the building maintains a rich history for the city.
"It is the oldest brewery in the state of Iowa, 1999 was the last year it was open. " Said Sarah Klesner, Owner of Star Restaurant.
The Kluesner's hope to see more political figures at Star Restaurant in the future.
