Dubuque Police Arrest Man for Gas Pump Fire

DUBUQUE, Iowa - A Dubuque man is facing arson charges after police said he lit a gas pump on fire.

Richard L. Huffman, 45, of Dubuque asked the clerk at the Oky Doky on 1st Ave in Dubuque if he could authorize a pump so he could fill his gas can. When the clerk did, he said Huffman went back outside and started spraying gas all over the pump. Then, officers said he lit it on fire.

The damage is estimated at $5,000. Huffman told police he wanted to be arrested. Huffman is in the Dubuque County Jail on First Degree Arson charges.
