CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A Dubuque photographer has received national acclaim for the pictures he's taken of a tree.

Every day for one year, Mark Hirsch took his iPhone out to a burr oak near his home and snapped a picture. It turned into a book called "That Tree." and a Facebook page with more than 30,000 followers.

Saturday he was at a Cedar Rapids book store to tell his story and sign books for fans.

He said he still can't believe so many people have connected with his work.

"I found it really unusual that I inspired myself the way that I did. But it's truly, incredibly humbling to realize how I've inspired such a wide audience," said Hirsch.

Sunday marks the 2-year anniversary of the first time Hirsch stopped to snap a photo. He said he'll be at the tree bright and early in the morning with his iPhone.
