DUBUQUE, Iowa - A 50-year-old Dubuque man is accused of selling heroin near a Dubuque school and playground.

Alvin Stanley Briggs, Jr., has been charged with one count of distribution of heroin resulting in death and four counts of distribution of heroin near a school and a playground. The charges are contained in an Indictment unsealed Monday in the United States District Court in Cedar Rapids.

Investigators said Briggs sold Heroin in 2012 and 2013. He also sold it near Prescott Elementary School and Jackson Park in Dubuque. Investigators also said that someone died after Briggs sold them the drug.
