Dubuque Man Beats World Record

By Belinda Yeung

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The owner of a T-shirt store said he would take on the challenge of beating a world record and he finally did it. Tom Rauen from Dubuque spent Friday night putting on t-shirt and t-shirt until he wore 247 of them.

With an official Guinness Book of World Records judge present Rauen beat the world record by two t-shirts. The current record was set last year by Croatian. Rauen's supporters say he was wearing just about every shirt size possible.

His T-Shirt Squad says it may seem like a simple challenge but it takes more than knowing how to dress yourself to break this record. It takes a lot of training and trial runs.

All 5,000 dollars raised during the event will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
