DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) - Chair springs made by Flexsteel Industries in Dubuque will soon become part of a furniture line manufactured in the United Kingdom, expanding the Iowa company's brand internationally.
Flexsteel says Thursday it has partnered with Wales-based Westbridge Furniture Designs to create a line of furniture called Flexsteel Lounge. It was introduced in the UK in January.
The style, scale, and cushioning components of the furniture are designed to meet UK customer needs and European industry standards. Flexsteel will ship its seat springs made in Dubuque to the UK, where the furniture will be manufactured.
Westbridge Furniture, founded in 2004, sells to independent furniture retailers and high-end department stores throughout the United Kingdom.
Flexsteel has been designing and making upholstered furniture in the United States since the 1890s.
