Dubuque Chooses 10 Sculptures for Exhibit
DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) - The city of Dubuque has chosen 10 outdoor sculptures for an annual exhibition that showcases public art.
Officials say there were more than 80 entries for the upcoming Art on the River Sculptures exhibit. More than 50 artists representing 20 states submitted their work.
The pieces will be installed in June. They will be installed in front of the Grand River Center and along the Mississippi Riverwalk at the Port of Dubuque. They will be available for viewing year-round, from sunrise to sunset.
Several of the chosen pieces come from artists based in Iowa. Other pieces belong to artists in Arizona, Illinois, Missouri, South Carolina and Wisconsin.
The pieces from last year's exhibit will remain on display until June. They are available for sale.
