Driver Dies After Rollover Crash into CornfieldKCCI.com
GRIMES, Iowa - A driver died following a rollover crash near Grimes Monday.
The crash was reported at 7:24 a.m. along Highway 141 near the Grimes exits. Authorities said the car rolled before landing on its wheels in the cornfield near the northbound lanes. Pictures of the crash show every side of the vehicle suffered damage. Polk County Sheriff’s deputies said the driver was headed southbound when the car crossed the median and the northbound lanes and entering the east ditch where the vehicle rolled. Authorities said the driver was taken to Iowa Methodist Medical Center, but later died from the injuries. The name of driver is not being released until family are notified.
