Diamond Jo Among 12 Businesses Awarded for Going Green
DUBUQUE, Iowa — The Diamond Conservation fund is one of 12 Iowa organizations and businesses receiving an Environmental Excellence award from Governor Terry Branstad.
The Diamond Conservation fund, established in 2008, funds local conservation education as well as water and habitat restoration projects. “It’s about being environmentally friendly but it’s also about youth education, teaching kids about sustainability and water quality, habitat improvements for wildlife and outdoor activities,” said Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Swain. Slot machines labeled “Diamond Conservation Fund” in the Diamond Jo Casino and the Diamond Jo Worth Casino helped pay for restoration development.
