Details Released On Fatal Interstate 80 Crash

CORALVILLE, Iowa -- The Iowa State Patrol has released additional information about a deadly weekend crash on Interstate 80.

According to troopers, a total of four people were injured and one killed when a pickup hit a car early Sunday afternoon.

The driver of the car, a 2003 Toyota Corolla, has been identified as Onkel Dide, 27, of Ottumwa. Dide, along with three passengers ranging in age from 34 to 50, were injured in the crash and taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. A fourth passenger was killed. Troopers have not released that person's name, but have said the victim was a teenager.

According to the crash report, Dide lost control of the car while traveling on I-80 westbound near the Coral Ridge Mall exit. The car then struck the center wall and bounced into a lane of traffic, where a Ford pickup crashed into it.

The driver of the pickup was not injured according to the report. It was rainy and slick at the time of the crash.
