Des Moines Teen Sought for Stabbing Attempt

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Des Moines police have been looking for a teenage boy accused of trying to stab his stepfather.

The Des Moines Register says a man told officers on Sunday night that his 16-year-old stepson had been gone for an extended period of time. The man says the boy pushed him when he confronted the boy about his absence and his missing school.

The man says he grabbed the boy when he tried to leave the house. The man says the boy then pulled a switchblade knife and tried to stab him in the throat.

Officers reported seeing several small wounds on the man's neck.

The boy fled before officers arrived. No arrests have been reported.
